Q: How do I connect two Light Curtain Sensor? What should I pay attention to?

Safety Curtain Sensor have a receiver and transmitter, typically with two or three wires. For wiring instructions, consult an engineer or the manufacturer. Depending on the application scenario, follow the wiring diagram. However, please consider the following points when wiring:

Do not use the sensor system with a reflector in a retro-reflective configuration, as this may impede detection. A reflector can be used to "bend" the detection area by 90 degrees.

 

About Wiring

[For PNP Output Models]

Connect the load between the output and the 0V line.

[For NPN Output Models]

Connect the load between the output and the +24V line. If +24V and 0V are connected, the operating mode will be reversed to "ON when blocked."

[For PNP Output Types]

Do not short-circuit the output line to the +24V line. Otherwise, the output will always be on. Also, when grounding the 0V terminal of the power supply, ensure that the output will not turn on due to the grounding of the output line.

[For NPN Output Types]

Do not short-circuit the output line to the 0V line. Otherwise, the output will always be on. Also, when grounding the +24V terminal of the power supply, ensure that the output will not turn on due to the grounding of the output line.

 

Note:

1. Configure the system with the optimal number of safety outputs required to meet the required safety level.

2. Do not connect any line of the light barrier to a DC power supply with a voltage exceeding 24V + 20%. Also, do not connect to an AC power supply. This may cause an electric shock.

3. Please ensure that the cable length remains within the rated length. Failure to do so can be dangerous, as excessive cable length may prevent the safety function from functioning properly.
