A: There are two main installation forms of safety light curtains: fixed and adjustable. Fixed installation: the sensor and reflector (or emitter and receiver) are directly fixed on the machine bed. It is usually suitable for closed presses with a frame structure where the mold is relatively fixed and the protective light curtain does not need to be adjusted frequently. Adjustable installation: the sensor and reflector (or emitter and receiver) are connected to the machine through a special bracket. In this installation form, the light curtain can be flexibly adjusted up and down, left and right according to the requirements of the mold opening and safety interval. It is generally suitable for open, closed and four-column presses with frequent mold changes and different mold sizes.

Q: How to solve the interference problem of safety light curtains?

A: Safety light curtains are installed in dangerous areas to ensure the personal safety of operators, but when using safety light curtains, they will always encounter interference. How to avoid these situations has become the number one problem for users. The following are the general causes of interference:

1. Light source interference;

2. Frequency converter interference (high-frequency conversion, low-frequency conversion);

Solution:

1. Light source interference is divided into strong light interference and reflection interference. These two types of interference are relatively easy to solve. In the position where the safety light curtains are used, the strong light lamp can be replaced with an ordinary lamp. Reflection interference is because there are relatively bright objects or mirrors near the safety light curtains. Move it outside the grating protection area to solve it.

2. Frequency converter interference 1. Is the light curtain's communication cable shielded? If there is, you must connect the shielded wire (shielded wire with better quality) and connect it to the ground wire; 2. Avoid passing through places with frequency converters when wiring;

3. Connect an intermediate relay to the signal line of the light curtains to isolate the interference signal, and the light curtains cannot use the power supply on the machine on site. You need to add an independent switching power supply. The advantage of this is to avoid the interference signal from being connected to the light curtains through the power supply

Q: How do we install the safety light curtain?

A: 1. First determine the installation position of the measuring grating transmitter and receiver, ensure that the two are in the same plane, the midpoints can be completely aligned, and install the mounting bracket with anti-vibration bolts and M4 screws (provided with the sensor). In places where the vibration is not strong, M4 or #8-32 bolts can be used as an alternative to anti-vibration bolts. Although the internal circuits of the detection light curtain transmitter and receiver can withstand strong vibrations, we still recommend using anti-vibration bolts to eliminate the damage that strong vibrations may cause to the sensor.

2. How to install the detection light curtain? Install the detection light curtain transmitter and receiver on the bracket, install their lenses face to face, and their outlet directions should be consistent. Measure the height of the two to determine whether they are aligned, make appropriate adjustments to align the measurement grating transmitter and receiver completely, and finally tighten the screws.

3. Connect the safety light curtain cable to the transmitter and receiver. You can cut off the excess cable. The cables used by the transmitter and receiver are the same (two cables are required for each system).

4. Wiring of the safety light curtain transmitter and receiver. Receiver output 1: It is an open collector NPN transistor output with a maximum breaking voltage of 30V dc and a maximum breaking current of 150mA. With overload and short circuit protection.
