Welcome Global Sensor Agent

Composition of K-type thermocouple:
Temperature Sensor K-type thermocouples are mainly composed of two different metal wires, usually nickel chromium alloy and nickel aluminum alloy. These two metal wires are welded together to form a measuring end, which is used to sense temperature. In addition, there is a compensation wire used to connect the measuring instrument, which is usually made of the same metal wire material as the thermocouple, but has a lower ambient temperature limit

- Wide temperature range coverage: Typical measurement range is 0°C to +250°C, with short-term applications at higher temperatures.
- Good linearity: Its thermoelectric potential versus temperature curve is relatively flat within the commonly used range, facilitating signal processing and calibration.
- High sensitivity: The output thermoelectric potential is approximately 41 µV/°C, providing a relatively strong signal that is easy to detect.
- Excellent cost-effectiveness: Among commonly used base metal thermocouples, it offers the best overall performance at a relatively low cost.
- Mechanical strength and oxidation resistance: Stable performance and good durability in oxidizing atmospheres.
Main Features of Temperature Sensor K-type thermocouples
Can be used in narrow areas.
Please avoid using it for sports equipment and do not use drag chains. If necessary, use a bending resistant type.
This product is a K-type thermocouple that measures the temperature of the object being measured based on the potential difference.
The temperature range of the wire is 0-200C. If it exceeds this temperature, the glass fiber of the connecting wire may be damaged.
The internal wire of this product is not made of copper wire. Please do not extend the wire by yourself as it may cause inaccurate temperature measurement.

Important Usage Precautions:
Despite its excellent performance, the following points must be considered to ensure measurement accuracy and lifespan:
Cold Junction Compensation: The Temperature Sensor K-type thermocouple outputs a signal based on the temperature difference between its hot and cold junctions. Therefore, the cold junction temperature must be known (usually through electronic components or the freezing point method) and compensation performed to obtain the true absolute temperature of the hot junction.
Environmental Limitations:
- Reducing/Sulfide Atmospheres: Chromium in the positive electrode is easily corroded by sulfur, leading to "green corrosion" and a rapid deterioration in performance.
- Vacuum or Inert Atmospheres: Under prolonged high temperatures, chromium may selectively volatilize, altering calibration characteristics.
- Alternating Oxidation-Reduction Atmospheres: These accelerate material degradation; physical isolation with a protective sheath is recommended.
- Drift and Stability: Prolonged use at high temperatures (e.g., above 800°C) can cause thermal drift due to oxidation and phase transitions, resulting in irreversible slight changes in the output potential. Regular calibration is necessary.
- Insulation and Connections: Wires and connection points must be well insulated to avoid introducing stray potentials; use compensating wires that match the thermocouple wires to extend the signal. Selection and Installation Considerations
- Protective Sleeve Selection: Choose a protective sleeve made of suitable materials such as stainless steel, Inconel, or ceramic, based on the corrosiveness, pressure, and flow rate of the measured medium.
- Response Time Considerations: The sleeve diameter, material, and structure (e.g., armored type) directly affect the thermal response speed and must be selected according to process requirements.
- Interference Prevention Measures: Signal lines should be kept away from power cables, using shielded wires, and filtered at the data acquisition end to suppress electromagnetic interference.
