The characteristics of through beam optical sensor
- There are few restrictions on the test object. Due to the shading and reflection caused by the test object being the testing principle, the test object is not limited by metals, such as proximity sensors. It can test almost all objects, such as glass, plastic, wood, and liquids.
- The short response time itself is high-speed, and the circuit of the sensor is composed of electronic components, so it does not include mechanical working time, and the response time is very short.
- Through advanced design techniques, high-resolution can be achieved by concentrating the projection beam on small light points, or by forming a special receiving optical system. The detection of small objects and high-precision position detection can also be carried out.
- It can achieve non-contact detection without the need for mechanical contact with the detection object, so it will not damage the detection object and sensor. Therefore, the sensor can be used for a long time.
- By checking the reflectivity and absorption of the light formed by the object, color judgment can be achieved, which varies depending on the wavelength of the projected light and the color combination of the test object. By utilizing these characteristics, the color of an object can be recognized.
- It is convenient to adjust the type of visible light projection, as the projection beam is visible to the eyes, making it easy to adjust the position of the detection object.

Precautions for operating indicator lights of through beam optical sensor
Adjustment function of the activation knob for the through beam optical sensor: Rotate the detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob more than 180 degrees to unlock the knob and adjust the detection distance and sensitivity.
1. Manual adjustment method
1) Detection distance/sensitivity adjustment
- Increase detection distance/sensitivity: Rotate the detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob clockwise
- Short detection distance/sensitivity: Rotate the detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob counterclockwise
Attention: When the adjustment knob reaches its limit position, the yellow switch status indicator light will flash at a frequency of 8Hz
2) Brightness/darkness adjustment
L: Bright mode; D: Dark communication mode
- Press the brightness and darkness adjustment button for more than 1 second (less than 4 seconds) to switch between brightness and darkness modes. The position where the green power status indicator light stays on after releasing is the current mode position
- Press the brightness/darkness adjustment button for more than 4 seconds to return to the initial mode
3) Restore factory settings
Press and hold the brightness/darkness adjustment button until all three LED indicator lights are off (greater than 10 seconds, but less than 30 seconds). After releasing the button, the yellow switch status indicator light remains on for 5 seconds, and the green power status indicator light remains on, restoring the factory settings
4) Activate lock detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob
- Lock knob adjustment function: When the detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob is not used for more than 5 minutes, it automatically enters the locked state
- Activate knob adjustment function: Rotate the detection distance/sensitivity adjustment knob beyond to unlock the knob adjustment lock
