A K-type thermocouple is a device for measuring temperature that consists of two wires made of different materials. When these two wires are joined together, they form an electrical connection. If the temperature changes at this junction, it generates a voltage that can be interpreted as temperature. This is often called the "Seebeck effect."

 

Characteristics of ring thermocouple type k

 

Thermocouple is one of the most commonly used temperature detection components in industry. It must be equipped with a secondary instrument, and its advantages are:

① High measurement accuracy. Because thermocouples can directly contact the tested object, they are not affected by the intermediate medium.

② Wide measurement range. Common thermocouples can measure continuously from 0 to +200 ℃, while some special thermocouples can measure temperatures as low as -269 ℃ (such as gold iron nickel chromium) and up to+2800 ℃ (such as tungsten rhenium).

③ Simple construction and convenient use. Thermocouples are usually composed of two different types of metal wires, and are not limited by size or beginning. They have a protective sleeve on the outside, making them very convenient to use.

The methods to test the quality of ring thermocouple type k

 

1. Observe with the naked eye whether the protective tube is corroded and penetrated, whether it is leaking, etc.

2. Use a multimeter to measure the continuity. The resistance of the assembled thermocouple is generally not greater than 2 ohms, and the resistance of the stainless steel braided wire type is generally not greater than 50 ohms. Generally, if it is greater than 1K, it can be determined to be broken.

3. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance value. Resistors exceeding 100K are bad.

4. Use the multimeter ohm measurement method to measure, adjust the resistance, connect both ends, and use a lighter to slightly burn it. If the multimeter pointer obviously becomes larger or smaller, it means it is good. If the pointer does not move, it means it is broken.

5. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at both ends. If there is no voltage, it is broken
