As a temperature sensor, thermocouple type k m6 are usually used in conjunction with display instruments, recording instruments, and electronic regulators. Generally used to measure the temperature of heated metal solids. K-type thermocouples have advantages such as good linearity, large thermoelectric electromotive force, high sensitivity, good stability and uniformity, strong oxidation resistance, and low cost.

Installation & Wiring Guidelines

 

Proper installation and wiring are essential to ensure the accuracy and service life of the Thermocouple Type K M6. Follow these practical guidelines for optimal performance:

 

  • Mounting: Use the M6 thread to fix the sensor firmly to the measured object (such as metal surfaces, pipes, or equipment walls). Ensure the thread engagement is tight to avoid gaps that could affect heat transfer and measurement accuracy.
  • Wiring: Connect the red SV terminal to the positive (+) terminal of the display instrument and the blue SV terminal to the negative (-) terminal. Avoid reversing the connection, as this will cause measurement errors.
  • Wire Handling: Avoid excessive bending or pulling of the lead wire, especially at the connection with the sensor body. For stainless steel braided wire models, avoid sharp bends that could damage the braided layer; for silicone wire models, keep the wire away from high-temperature areas exceeding 200℃.
  • Installation Position: Install the sensor in an area where it can fully contact the measured object, avoiding direct exposure to open flames, excessive airflow, or corrosive media. For pipe temperature measurement, ensure the hot end is in full contact with the pipe surface to ensure accurate heat transfer.
  • Protection: Keep the sensor's hot end clean and free from dirt, oil, or debris, which can reduce thermal conductivity and affect measurement accuracy. Regularly inspect the protection spring and wire for damage, and replace the sensor if necessary.
