Diffuse reflection Rectangular Photoelectric Sensor is configured as a transmitting and receiving body. The emitted light shines on the detection object and reflects to the receiving end. However, this type of sensor is easily affected by the shape, color, inclination, etc. of the object, so be careful when using it. The detection distance of the diffuse reflection type photoelectric sensor refers to the [distance between the sensor and the object].

Diffuse photoelectric sensors are particularly easy to install, as only one unit has to be mounted and no reflectors are required. These sensors work primarily at close ranges, have high switching accuracy, and can reliably detect even very small objects. Sensors with background suppression only detect a specific area in front of the sensor. Any objects outside this area are ignored by the sensor. Sensors with background suppression are also insensitive to interfering objects in the background and can still detect accurately in the presence of interference. Sensors with background analysis are always used in applications with a fixed background in the measuring range, with which the sensor can be calibrated.

Precautions for installation of the rectangular photoelectric sensor

1. The photoelectric switch should avoid the following environments: water, oil, dust, and direct sunlight outdoors.

2. When used in parallel, the mutual spacing should be maintained at 0.4 times or more than the detection distance.

3. When using reflective photoelectric switches in parallel, the distance between them should be maintained at more than 1.4 times the detection distance.

4. The detection distance of reflective photoelectric switches is affected by the material, size, and surface reflectivity of the detected substance.

 

Notes on diffuse reflection Rectangular Photoelectric Sensor

  • Mutual interference

When multiple photoelectric switches are used in parallel, mutual interference may occur, which may cause malfunction.

  • Reflection from surrounding objects

When the photoelectric switch is installed directly on a flat surface (especially a smooth surface) or in a close state, the light in the figure below will cause unstable operation. Please change the drilling height or add a shading plate.

  • Influence of the mounting surface

When the mounting surface is rough, the reflected light will cause unstable operation. Please change the mounting height, mounting angle, etc. to make it stable.
