Q: Installation conditions of Long Range Inductive Proximity Sensor

A: The operating distance that non-shielded proximity switches can obtain (related to diameter), but to prevent the metal around the switch from affecting the switch, the switch sensing head must maintain a certain gap with the surrounding metal. Due to the special shielding effect inside, the shielded proximity switch reduces the radial magnetic field on the side, and the induction distance is about 60% of that of the unshielded type, so it can be installed flush inside the metal. Magnetic sensors are not affected by installation conditions as long as the surrounding materials are not magnetized.

 

Q: Regarding the maintenance and repair of Long Range Inductive Proximity Sensor

A: To ensure the long-term stable operation of the proximity switch, as well as general control, Similar to the manufacturing process, please conduct the following regular inspections:; 

1. Check the installation position of the detection object and the proximity switch whether there is any offset, looseness, or deformation. 2. Check the wiring and connection parts for looseness and poor contact, and disconnection. 

3. Check if there is any accumulation of metal dust or other substances adhering to the detection surface. 

4. Check for any abnormalities in the operating temperature and surrounding environmental conditions.

Q: Requirements of the Long Range Inductive Proximity Sensor for the power supply and load

A: 

1. When the power is turned on (within 100ms), this product cannot be used: 

2. Surge protection: When the proximity switch is used near areas with surge interference (such as welding operations with a welding machine), please add a surge absorption device. 

3. When connecting high current loads (such as light bulbs, motors), the initial resistance decreases due to the impact of current. Only when the current increases, the load resistance increase, and the current returns to normal. In this case, the current surge will damage the proximity switch. Please use a small relay to turn it on. Replace the protective proximity switch. 

4. The proximity switch cannot be powered by an autotransformer, and an isolation transformer should be used; 

5. The connecting wire of the proximity switch should be as short as possible to reduce interference. 

6. The AC/DC two-wire proximity switch power cord cannot be directly connected to the power supply and must be connected in series with the load; otherwise, the proximity switch will be damaged.
