A square Metal Sensing Proximity Switch is a rectangular-shaped metal detection switch.It adopts inductive electromagnetic principle to sense metal objects without physical contact.With compact square housing, easy fixed installation, anti-vibration and stable performance,it is widely used for position detection, counting and automation control in industrial machinery.

I. Installation Distance Precautions
* Strictly adhere to the rated detection distance. Do not exceed the distance, misjudgment or malfunction may occur.
* Do not place the metal object being detected too close. Excessive proximity can cause prolonged saturation, overheating, and damage.
* When multiple sensors are installed side-by-side: Maintain sufficient spacing to prevent mutual interference and malfunctions.
II. Installation Environment Requirements
* Keep away from strong magnetic fields, frequency converters, motors, welding machines, and high-voltage cables.
* Strong electromagnetic interference can cause erratic switch tripping and false sensing.
* Avoid prolonged immersion, strong acids and alkalis, and severely corrosive environments.
* Standard IP67 rating only provides water and dust protection; it cannot withstand prolonged immersion in water.
* Avoid severe impacts, heavy pressure, and high-frequency vibrations to prevent damage to internal components.
III. Requirements for Detected Objects
* Only detects metals: iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, etc.
* Plastic, wood, glass, and liquids are completely undetectable.
* Different metals have different detection distances: Iron is optimal; the detection distance for aluminum/copper will be shorter, so allow for a margin when selecting a sensor.
IV. Wiring Specifications
Identify NPN/PNP and NO/NC model numbers; do not connect incorrectly.

Never reverse the positive and negative terminals to avoid instantaneous damage to the sensor.

Do not connect directly to high-power loads; it is recommended to use it with a relay or PLC for transfer.

Avoid power lines as much as possible when wiring long cables to reduce signal interference.

V. Power Supply and Load
Strictly match the rated voltage (commonly DC12–24V); do not exceed the voltage limit.

Avoid short circuits and overloads, as these will directly burn out the circuit board.

For frequent start-stop operations, select a high-frequency, shock-resistant model.

VI. Use & Maintenance
Do not allow iron filings, dust, or oil to accumulate on the sensing surface for extended periods, as this will reduce sensing sensitivity.

Disconnect the sensor power supply before welding to prevent high-voltage breakdown.

Regularly check the fixing screws of moving parts to prevent loosening or displacement.
