The operational principle of the Rectangle Inductive Sensor is based on electromagnetic induction. When a metallic object enters the detection area of the sensor, the eddy currents induced in the metal draw energy from the oscillator. This energy absorption results in a decrease or complete halt of the oscillator's vibrations. The two states of the oscillator-oscillating and stopped-are then converted into binary switch signals through a process of signal conditioning and amplification. Afterward, these signals are outputted following power amplification.

 

When the inductive sensor is powered on, it creates an alternating magnetic field at its detection surface. As a metal target approaches this magnetic field within the sensor's sensing range, eddy currents are generated in the target. These eddy currents cause the vibrations of the oscillator to be damped or to stop entirely. The change in the oscillator's state, from an active (oscillating) state to an inactive (stopped) state and vice versa, is processed by an amplifier circuit. This circuit transforms these state changes into switch signals. Subsequently, these switch signals trigger the drive control mechanisms, enabling non-contact detection.
